Statement of Faith
Joy to the World Foundation Thailand
At Joy to the World Foundation Thailand, we are committed to the life-transforming message of the gospel and to living out our faith in service to others. We hold to the core truths of the historic Christian faith as expressed in the Nicene Creed, which unite believers across cultures, nations, and generations.
1. One True God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
We believe in one God, eternal and almighty, who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, holy and loving, just and merciful, worthy of all worship and obedience.
2. Jesus Christ, Our Savior and Lord
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father.
True God from true God, through Him all things were made. For our salvation, He came down from heaven, was incarnate by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, died, was buried, and on the third day rose again in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will never end.
3. The Holy Spirit, Giver of Life
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father [and the Son], and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified. The Spirit speaks through the Scriptures, empowers the Church, equips believers for ministry, and transforms lives through the love and truth of Christ.
4. The Church and Its Mission
We believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic Church—the global body of Christ, called to proclaim the gospel, make disciples, and live as agents of God’s love, justice, and peace in the world. We affirm the unity of believers and the call to walk in humility, holiness, and service.
5. Salvation and the Hope to Come
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
6. The Authority of Scripture
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God. It is our foundation for faith, life, and mission, revealing God's heart for the world and His redemptive plan through Jesus Christ.
Vision, Mission, and Core Values
Vision
To see the next generation of youth embrace life in Christ and be equipped as change agents within their culture through example, education, and love for God, tribe, village, and country.
Mission
To provide disadvantaged people groups in Asia with care, programs, housing, and education that uphold the dignity and worth of every individual as a child of God.
Core Values
Academic Value:
Develop God-given wisdom and knowledge to the fullest potential to become producers and influencers in Thailand. (Daniel 1:17)
Vocational Value:
Promote a strong work ethic and servant’s heart in the workplace. (Philippians 2:3–5)
Cultural Value:
Cultivate Christian leaders who influence culture through excellence, truth, and faith. (Daniel 3:28–30, Matthew 7:24)
Christian Value:
Foster deep knowledge of Christ and conformity to His image. (Philippians 3:7–14, Romans 8:29, Proverbs 3:5–6)
Heritage Value:
Encourage understanding of tribal and Thai heritage, love for country and people, and a desire to make a difference. (Psalm 33:10–12)
