D1 Update

Our original post about the accident:

On Monday night, March 16, several of our D1 students were in a serious car accident while they were on their way to set up for a Church event. We are so grateful that God miraculously spared each one of their lives. Some of our students have broken bones and will need lots of TLC. One student had a concussion and will be staying in the hospital for further observation, and others are shaken from the incident and need our prayers for peace during this time.

Our Joy to the World Staff jumped into action as soon as they got word. They spent the majority of the day with these students in the hospital. They are being loved on and cared for well!!❤️We are so blessed to have such a caring and competent staff at a time like this.

Please keep our D1 students in your prayers! We are confident that God will use this experience to draw each one of them closer himself and reveal his truth day by day. We ask that you pray for peace and comfort, especially. Thank you for praying with us. God is at work.

Most recent update:

Our D1 students have all been released from the hospital! Most of our students have suffered minor cuts, bruises, and scrapes — thanks be to God! We are praising God for his protection from something that could have been much worse.

Two of our students have suffered more serious injuries, including a bad concussion, vision loss, and some broken bones. Please keep these students in your prayers as they continue to heal. We are also praying for those that are still very shaken from the incident. We're asking God to guard their hearts and minds and give them overwhelming peace as they continue to process what happened.

Currently, most of our D1 students are on lock-down at our D1 girls/boys houses in Chiang Mai. Some of our students have travelled back home to be with family during the COVID-19 crisis. We are praying for the health and safety of all our students, staff and volunteers!

Thank you for praying with us!
